The Oxford & Cambridge Boat RaceChiswick Pier, Corney Reach Way, W4 Saturday 3rd April 2010 Pier House & Bar open 12.30 - Boat Race starts at 4.30pm Chiswick Pier offers one of the best views of the Boat Race with its location on the outside of the Surrey Bend providing a clear view of the crews as they power upstream through Chiswick Reach, past Chiswick Eyot and the Pier then through to the final bend before Barnes Railway Bridge. The river-based action kicks off at around 4:00pm with the reserves race (Isis for Oxford and Goldie for Cambridge) followed about 30 minutes later by the Blue Boats. Time between the start at Putney and Chiswick Pier is around 11 minutes depending on the condition of weather (and crews). |

Easter Events ProgrammeChiswick House & Gardens Easter Sunday April 4th and Easter Monday April 5th 10am Easter bonnet parade, followed by a packed schedule of activities to entertain children and capture their imaginations: Teddy Bear's picnic; Easter egg trail; competitions.. Tickets cost £5.00 per child (age guide under 9) for each day and are on sale in March from Chiswick House Café or Cath Kidston at 25 Chiswick High Road. (All children must be accompanied by an adult.) |
