Works start on Boston Manor House
John Laing Integrated Services, the London Borough of Hounslow’s contractor for libraries, parks and heritage has been appointed to project manage works to Boston Manor House to prevent the house from further decline.
Specialist repair work to the property to stabilise the south east corner so that the scaffolding can be removed started on 19th July and it is anticipated the works programme will take approximately 14 months to complete to ensure they are carried out in accordance with the high risk nature of the building .
During the works programme extensive structural repairs including rebuilding and re pointing of the brick work, tree root barriers, drainage and measures to prevent water damage from the surrounding park land will be undertaken and a sump pump will be installed in the basement to protect the plant from flooding.
Internal repairs to the library room to reinstate the internal decorations will also be conducted.

In order to facilitate the works programme the house has had to be closed to the public.
Further to the works the London Borough of Hounslow are preparing to undertake a feasibility study to determine the future of the house and the annex.
