Becoming a Redlees Artist

Glass shapes on wall pictureRedlees Studios is unique in developing a system of user-led management. Resident artists are required to actively develop themselves as artists and participate in the activities of the Studios as well as contribute to the arts in the borough.

Tasks for which resident artists may be responsible are: teaching, leading workshops, administration, invigilating and other professional skills or expertise the artists can contribute.

The benefits of becoming a Redlees artist include:

          - use of the on-site IT suite with internet access

          - use of the ceramic and (modified) glass kilns

          - opportunities to take part in our community arts programme                              including children and community arts workshops

          - opportunities to participate in professional development training

             programmes

          - membership of the artists@redlees group, which includes featuring

             on the website (www.redlees.org)

          - regular updates about funding, projects, exhibition opportunities
