Leisure and Culture Strategy Consultation

Central government is cutting Hounslow council’s budget by over £70m in the next four years and all council services will have to make savings. Leisure and Culture Services is expected to make at least £2.3m savings.

To respond to this challenge, Hounslow council will have to do things differently. Hounslow council want to improve services and meet the financial challenges at the same time which may mean re-designing the services and looking at different ways to manage and fund them.

Hounslow council has drafted a new strategy for leisure and culture for 2016 - 2020 which sets out how they may do this. It contains draft priorities across four main themes:

  • Modernise the library service
  • Enhance the network of parks and open spaces
  • Support residents to be more active
  • Celebrate Hounslow’s people, place, heritage and culture

You can read the Draft Hounslow Leisure and Culture Strategy 2016-2020    ( PDF Help, size 779kb) here.

Please tell Hounslow council what you think.

They would like to hear your views on how they can improve services and meet the financial challenges at the same time. Your views will be collected and reviewed to shape a final version of the strategy which will be presented to Borough Council next year.
