Heston has reopened to the public following its full refurbishment.
Heston Library has become the first in Hounslow to launch new self service technology. From August 2nd, when the fully refurbished library opened to the public, customers have been in control of their library borrowing.
The new system allows customers to borrow and return books, using the state of the art technology without having to queue at the reception desks.
Using the self service facilities couldn’t be easier; you just insert your card, place your books on the self service plate and follow the onscreen instructions. The self service terminals will soon also have a payment function which allows library customers to manage their accounts.

Library staff will now have more time available to offer advice and information and interact more personally with customers to ensure they are getting the most out of their local library.
The fully refurbished library at Heston also has new computer terminals, plasma screen for announcements, information and events with free Wi-Fi access to the internet coming soon...
