Shakespeare in Kabul Where: Brentford Library Shakespeare in Kabul is a memoir which tells the story of staging Love's Labour's Lost in Kabul in 2005 and 2006, by an Afghan troupe of actors. The book was co-authored by Stephen Landrigan, an American playwright, and Qais Akbar Omar, an Afghan writer and journalist. Stephen was responsible for creating the adapted screenplay of Love's Labour's Lost and its translation into Dari. Qais was the Assistant Director. Tickets available from Brentford Library. |

Stamford Brook Diamond Jubilee Fete Where: Stamford Brook In 1897 the Stamford Brook residents commemorated Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee, with Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee over the June weekend the Stamford Brook residents have recreated the wonderful celebration at the same place. Food stalls, performances by local church choirs, scout groups as well as a parade ceremony will bring the local residents together in honour of Her Majesty the Queen. |
Lighting the Beacon Where: Lampton Park 2012 beacons will be lit by
communities and individuals
throughout the UK, as well as
the Channel Islands, the Isle of
Man and the Commonwealth.
Her Majesty the Queen will
light the final beacon at
approximately 10. 30pm in
Central London, broadcast on

Isleworth Royal Connections Talk Where: Isleworth Library Prince Richard, money lender brother of King Henry III built a palatial mansion in Isleworth. King Henry VIII’s body was accompanied through the area by a procession several miles long. The house, in which one of King William IV’s illegitimate daughters lived, still stands.
