General Facilities
● Car Parks with disabled spaces are located off Bedfont Road and Clockhouse Lane.
● Toilets including disabled toilet and baby changing facilities are located in the Information Centre at the Clockhouse road entrance only.
● Disabled access is very good in the park. Through out the park the paths are compacted gravel with medium slope gradients. They are accessible to wheelchair users with assistance (please be aware poor weather can affect the quality of the paths).
● A pier on South Lake allows wheelchair users and those with mobility difficulties to get closer to the lake and is an excellent vantage point for bird watching.
● There are two Children’s Play Areas. One for younger children is located close to The Motte. The Bedfont Road car park is nearest to this play area. Another play facility for older children is located near the Information Centre by the Clockhouse Lane car park.
● Picnic tables are located throughout the site. Barbecues are not permitted anywhere within the Country Park.
Dog Walking
● Dog exercise areas, there are two areas in the Country Park, one is located near to the Bedfont Road car park and the second is located at the South Side area of the site in Challenge Road off Feltham Road.
● In all other areas of the Country Park dogs MUST be kept on a lead at all times.
● Dog bins are located throughout the site. Please ensure that you collect and dispose of all dog faeces.

Information Centre
● The Information Centre is an excellent starting point for your visit to the park. Here you can access free leaflets providing information about the park and nature reserve. There are also informative and interactive displays about the Country Park.
Get Active
● Volunteering: Interested in getting more involved and hands on with Bedfont Lakes? Why
not try a volunteering session with Bedfont Lakes Conservation Volunteers? The group carries out all sorts of tasks from practical habitat management and tern raft construction to litter picking and maintenance.

● Walking: There are approximately four miles of flat and gently sloping paths around the Country Park. These are surfaced and regularly maintained so that they are suitable for wheelchair users.
● Cycling: Gentle cycling is permitted on the surfaced paths within the Country Park. Please do not cycle on the grassy areas or on the hills. Riders are asked to behave sensibly and with respect to other visitors. Pedestrians have the right of way at all times.
● Trim Trail: A series of physical exercises are located around the Country Park, which can be used as part of a regular fitness programme. Bedfont Lakes is also an ideal place for joggers of all abilities.

● Fishing: The Fishing Lake is managed by The Barnes and Mortlake Angling and Preservation Society. Please contact www.bmaps.org/page5.htm for all fishing related enquires. Angling is only permitted on the Fishing Lake. Anyone found fishing on any of the other lakes will be referred to the Fishing Lake. Repeat offenders will face a ban or prosecution.
Nature and Wildlife
● Bedfont Lakes has Site of Importance for Nature Conservation (SINC) and Local Nature Reserve (LNR) status and has gained a reputation as one of the best locations in London for watching wildlife. Bedfont Lakes has two main nature reserve areas. The public reserve is open daily to the public with two bird hides for concealed observation.
● The main part of the nature reserve is open on Sundays between 2pm and 4pm only. A membership scheme is available allowing members’ access at any times during the parks opening hours. ● Bird Hides. There are four hides located throughout the site, all of which are excellent spots for birdwatching. A wildlife log and board in the Information Centre keeps regular updates of what has been seen in the park.
