Hounslow Urban Farm is one of London's largest community farms. Covering 29 acres it is an important educational resource and leisure facility for all the family. Visitors can enjoy a variety of colourful and unusual farm animals close-up, including 5 types of pigs, goats, cows, rabbits, ducks, geese, alpacas, rheas chipmunks and lots more.

Many of the visitors to the farm are urban residents who have little or no contact with a traditional farm environment or livestock. The farm offers an opportunity for close contact and interaction with a variety of animals in a safe environment.

Some of the animals are rare breeds which are in danger of dying out due to intensive farming methods. This was recognised when the project began and the farm now breeds a variety of rare or endangered domestic livestock including: sheep, goats and pigs.Baby Shetland pony, Ollie, together with his mother Medal at the Hounslow Urban Farm

There are now even more animals to see outside on a family day out at Hounslow Urban Farm. At just 3 weeks old, baby Shetland pony, Ollie, together with his mother Medal, have joined the farms other Shetland ponies Mac, Heidi, Honey and the donkeys Ethel and Maggie in the outside paddocks.

Having been given a full bill of health Ollie is happily settling in and enjoying galloping around the paddock, while mum Medal looks on. Brown and white in colour Ollie is very cute, cuddly and will be easily recognisable by children on a day out.

Rabbits, guinea pigs and other small animals bred on the farm can be purchased with advice given on suitable pets and how best to care for them.

Pig Racing, Animal Handling and other activities are run every weekend and daily throughout the school holidays. We also have a children's entertainer on bank holiday Mondays and every Tuesday during school holidays.

The farm also operates a popular volunteer programme for people over 14 years to learn more about animals.

We pride ourselves in providing a safe environment for everyone to meet, touch and feed our animals.
